Theta Network was co-founded in 2017 by Mitch Liu, who has a background in mobile gaming and online advertising, and Jieyi Long, an expert in VR live streaming tech. Some key board members include YouTube co-founder Steve Chen, Twitch co-founder Justin Kana, and top industry figures from Rakuten Viki and Verizon Digital Media.

Theta Network has a maximum token supply of 1,000,000,000 THETA, and all of them are in circulation as of now.
