Neo Price (NEO)

NEO is the native cryptocurrency of the Neo blockchain. It's used for P2P payments, storing value, and staking within the Neo consensus model.

Neo uses Delegated Byzantine Fault Tolerance (dBFT) for consensus. It’s similar to Delegated Proof-of-Stake (DPoS) in that users stake NEO to help validate transactions and secure the network. The difference is that with dBFT, users can delegate their voting power to other nodes, making the process more efficient.

Neo was founded in 2014 by Da Hongfei and Erik Zhan.

The total supply of NEO is capped at 100 million tokens.

Neo stands out with its decentralized digital identity solution, setting it apart from other blockchains. While it offers smart contract functionality like Ethereum, Neo goes further with features like NeoFS (decentralized storage), a native oracle for using off-chain data on-chain, and multi-language support, allowing developers to code in various programming languages.
