BNB was created by Changpeng Zhao (CZ), a former technology executive at Blockchain.info and OKCoin, and Yi He, a co-founder of Binance and a former marketing professional. They launched BNB through an Initial Coin Offering (ICO) in 2017.

BNB originally had a maximum supply of 200 million coins, but the current circulating supply is 144 million due to periodic coin burn events.

The initial maximum supply of BNB was 200 million coins. However, due to regular burning events, the current circulating supply is 153,847,781 BNB.
